Always on the Move

The essence of change, of fluid movement and constant evolution is what inspires Greata in all its activities and endeavours. It was a journey that began in the world of trading, in Bangkok, when Mr. Habib Ahmed, the Founder, conceptualized Arhams Trading Company.

Soon after, the first milestone was achieved in the form of GREATA ENTERPRISES that was established in Hong Kong. In the years that followed, inroads were made into various sectors — Jewellery, Property Development, Aqua Farming, Plastics, Agro Farming, Bio-Diesel and Education.

Arhams Jewellers FZCO

After its experience in jewellery trading, Greata entered the sparkling jewellery industry in 2002 with Arhams Jewellers FZCO. To cater to the massive demands for diamonds and diamond jewellery overseas and especially in the Gulf markets, the company set up a factory in UAE that would focus solely on diamond jewellery.

The finest jewellery designed and created here reaches customers across various countries — Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bangkok, India and Lebanon — carrying with it the hallmark of Greata quality.

Diamonds are forever, but they wouldn't have been a reality if a piece of coal had not moulded itself to the conditions that existed around it for centuries. This metaphor of fluidity runs through every facet of Greata's jewellery enterprise.

Education Initiative

SMOT School
of Business

SMOT is an initiative by GREATA to tap thousands of young, hungry minds and infuse a wealth of business knowledge and experience into them. The very name SMOT represents an endless experiment that endeavours to find sources of unlimited energy.

True to its name, SMOT has been conducting PGPM programmes successfully, adopting a refreshingly new approach to management. The business school has collaborated with the prestigious Saint Mary's University, Halifax, Canada for a PGDBA program.

Closer home, students can opt for programmes that SMOT offers in affiliation with Bharathidasan University, Thiruchi — nurturing the leaders and entrepreneurs of tomorrow.

Plastics Division

Pondy Hi-Tech
Plastics

A free-flowing form that can take on any shape — plastics represent the ultimate expression of fluidity. Pondy Hi-Tech Plastics (P) Ltd., an initiative by Greata established in 1995, manufactures plastic components for Reynolds (GM Pens) — the pen the world prefers.

A modest start in Pondicherry with a single unit operating two machines has grown rapidly into three factories, employing over 150 personnel and equipped with ten injection and blow moulding machines.
